Direct Buying Selling Ad Space Basics

In my last post I wrote about Contextual Advertising basics. This post is about Buying and Selling ads on any Website or Blog.

If you are advertise or Website publisher then selling or buying ad space is another way of advertising. As a Website publisher you can sell ad space on your Website. Advertisers buys ad space on publisher Website and pays a fix amount for that ad space. Price depends on for how long ad space is available it can be like for a week or month.

When you buy or sell ad space advertiser put a banner or text link ad on publisher site. When you buy or sell ad space it does not count costing or earning on CPM or click cost. Advertiser pays fix amount to publisher and publishers earning not affects how many clicks that ad is getting. Advertiser also do not need to pay any extra money if their ad is getting good response.

As advertiser there are many ways of advertisement but question is why to use Ad space for advertisement. Advertisers normally use contextual advertisement, CPM ads or Affiliate Marketing so why buying Ad Space?

When you use any other form of advertisement you may not save that much money compares to direct buying ad space. When you buy ad space on any Website you put banner on that Website you may get lot of clicks on your banner which can lows down your cost per click compare to Pay Per Click program. If you use affiliate marketing then you pay some commission to your affiliate but when you get visitors from direct ad space and they buy product you do not need to pay any commission. Thus you can save lot of money on your promotion.

As Website publisher you make money by Pay Per Click ads CPM Ads or affiliate marketing. If you are not expert in any of them you may not make good money. When you sell ad space on your Website you get a fixed amount for you ad space. You do not need to take care of clicks or conversions you are free to just focus on your Website growth.

There are two ways of buying or selling ad space. As publisher you can sell ad space directly by your own or use any direct ad selling advertisement company.

Many Website owner directly sell ad space on there Website. As an advertiser if you are interested in advertising on a Website you can contact Website owner by using their advertisement or contact page. Direct buying or selling ads save your money as you are not going through mediator company which charges some fee for serving or selling ad space.

There are many people who want to start there own blog. Someone want to create blog to promote their business, someone to earn from there blog. There can be different reason of starting new blog but everyone wants to make a successful blog.

To make successful blog you need lot of visitors for your blog without visitors your blog is of no use. To bring visitors and create a good blog you need to do lot of good things to make your blog successful.

There are many points you must follow to create a successful blog. Here are some of points you must consider before starting a new blog.

1. Blog Host – This is the question many blogger ask. Should they start blog on there own domain or use any free services like Blogger.com? My opinion would be if you are serious with blog then always go with your own domain name. If you start your blog on free service and after sometime you switch to your own domain then you will loose lot of visitors as many visitors come from search engine. Your visitors will recognize you on that domain not on new. Self domain creates your own identity and branding. You can promote your site to everyone as it shows your own identity.

2. Blog Design –

Many of new bloggers search for free templates for there blog. Sometime they found very good blog design but sometime they not and they choose design what they like. Many cans argue that it doesn’t matter how your blog looks it is important to have the quality content. Yes I also agree good content makes good blog but here is my another opinion. There are many types of visitor who land to a blog some of them are interested in content, some of them came just searching and leave your site straight away as they found their solution and there are many who will just leave your site because they do not find your site attractive.

You do not need to spend lot of money designing your blog but you must search for good looking design or you can look for readymade themes which do not cost much.

3. I Hate Blogging

After seeing lot of successful blog I also thought to start a blog. I thought my blog can make me popular and will make me earn a lot. After lot of research I started a new blog. I learned that not to focus on earning in starting and write regularly with quality content. This will help me to build readers for my blog.

After starting my blog I started writing regularly but after few days I found I am short of topic and writing was not a great pleaser experience for me. I not found it interesting to write regularly. It is very boring to write.

I am not a writer and I have not taken any formal education on writing. I don’t know how to write good quality content and even I am not able to understand on which topic I should write because of that I hate blogging.

Then who sad to write, actually this was my decision and I must love writing for my blog but question is how.

This can be the problem of many bloggers. Many blogs die soon after there launch. Why those blog dies when there are some good post. There are lots of question on this problem like, how to write regularly, how to love blogging, how to write good blog post, how to get idea for my next post and many more questions.

There are many new bloggers who are inspired and read other blogs like Problogger, Copyblogger, DailyBlogTips, etc and I must say they are the best blog and every blogger must learn from them. Even after reading inspiring post on those blogs bloggers are not able to love blogging. Why this happens?

Reasons Why Some New Bloggers Give up

1. They had not created a long term plan before starting there blog.
2. They created a blog on a niche on which they have not much knowledge.
3. They read some good blogs but not read other blogs of there own blog niche.
4. They don’t have much time to write and they want to finish there writing job quickly.
5. They do not create a list for future post.

These are some examples this list can be long.

How to overcome this problem?

1. Create a blog on a niche which you have some good knowledge and you can write on that topic for long time. Pick the topic on which you are passionate.

2. It is not important to have only one niche for a blog. If you think you can write on some other niche too then write for those topics on same blog.

3. Read other blogs on same niche for which you write this will give you idea for your new post.

4. Write, Write and Write this will start making love you writing. As much you will write you will find you love writing.

5. Read, Read and Read this will fill your mind with ideas. When you read you get idea for future post this will again help you to love writing.

6. Don’t think you have to write daily if you can write few good posts per week then do that. There are many popular blog who just write 3-4 post per week and those post bring lot of visitors per day for them.

7. Set some small targets for your blog and always try to archive those targets. When you will archive some target it will boost your confidence this will make you love your job.

Change AdSense AD Font Size

Few months back AdSense given publishers an option of changing AD font face. This time AdSense have added one more feature changing the font size.

Now you can change your AdSense Ad unit font size from the options small, medium and large. Google was testing this feature from few times without giving this option to publishers and they found large text font works well for many publisher.

Now this option is available to all AdSense publishers. They can change there ad unit font size easily. You can change font size by going to AdSense Setup – Manage Ads – Choose your Ad unit there you will find option Font where you can change Font family and font size.

Now you have to check which font size works best for your site.

Is Affiliate Marketing Working Now?

Affiliate marketing is the biggest source for online earners. Affiliate marketing have made rich to many web marketers. Many web marketers have and are making much more than $10,000 per month with a single affiliate program.

Will affiliate marketing success continue in this current resection time? Many affiliate marketers are seeing their earning falling down but there are many who says they have not found any problem. I don’t know is this topic for debate or is there any real problem.

Affiliate marketers earn by various way from pay per lead to pay per sale. Every web marketer is specialized in their own space PPL or PPS. Small affiliates have earned most with pay per lead.

In this slowdown most affiliate’s earnings are down in pay per sale programs. Affiliate marketers earn with PPS when someone buy a product. PPS make some great money as for every sale pays from 5% to 20% or more. At current time many people’s jobs are lost and many are not in better position to spend lot of money on buying this have made affiliate sales much less then past.

On other hand many affiliate marketers are still earning big bucks with pay per lead program where there prospect have nothing to buy. When you don’t have to spend anything on particular task you take part in those program because of this affiliate marketers focusing on PPL are still making good money.

Lot of affiliates are facing problem from 4when Google AdWords stopped third party URLs on their ads this stopped many affiliates earning who were making good money with their autopilot program. Where they generate good income after setting up there affiliate ads on Google AdWords.

Good affiliate marketers found many other ways of promoting there affiliate product and started earning with affiliate program for other countries.

Few days back I was reading somewhere that internet users are got down in this slow down. If it’s true then affiliate marketers are going to face some problems.

On other hand I found many affiliate marketers earnings are increased in past few months which is a great news. Two different views are making me confuse is slowdown is impacting affiliate marketing or it is still in good shape.
